DEAD ELECTRIC ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM MONTGOMERY PARK

Multidisciplinary Artist Behind Dead Electric Blends Intimate Songwriting with Visual Art in a Deeply Personal Record

Portland, OR — Multidisciplinary artist Tyson Mangelsdorf, the creative force behind the band project Dead Electric, has released his debut album Montgomery Park—a heartfelt and immersive body of work shaped by years of reflection, self-teaching, and a lifelong connection to his hometown of Portland.

Known for his detailed work in the visual arts, Tyson brings that same care and emotional depth to the album. Portland’s historic Montgomery Park building serves as a conceptual anchor for the record, grounding the music to a place—and a life—that continues to shift.

“In recent years, I’ve been processing the passing of my parents and what it meant to grow up here,” says Tyson. “They both worked in that building when they met and got married—that monumental place was a fixture in my childhood.”

Written, recorded, and mixed by Tyson between 2021 and 2023 at his home studio, Pixelgarden Studios, Montgomery Park is an entirely self-made effort. Songs developed from nightly jam sessions into fully sequenced songs, every track is paired with hand-drawn illustrations created specifically for the vinyl jacket. “For me, music has never been disposable,” he says. “I’ve always valued albums you can live with—ones you return to again and again.”

With no previous experience in engineering, Tyson taught himself production from the ground up, recording each instrument himself (including digitally programmed drums) and mixing the record over six months. Final mastering was completed by Foster Mastering, with vinyl lacquer cutting handled at Telegraph Audio.

Pressed at Cascade Record Pressing and released in early 2024, Montgomery Park is streaming everywhere and now available as a limited-edition vinyl, complete with lyric booklets and full-color illustrations.

“We all long for human connection,” Tyson adds, “and I hope this record meets someone along the way and helps them feel understood—even if just for a moment.”
